Young local soccer players will be able to learn from some of the best when one of the world’s most successful football clubs heads Down Under later this year.

Barcelona Football Club, which has produced world-class players such as Lionel Messi, Ansu Fati and Gavi, will be conducting camps in Australia during September and October. In Adelaide, a camp will be held at Saint Ignatius’ College from October 9-13.

Barça Academy sport director Sergi Barjuan said the camps aimed to provide aspiring footballers between the ages of 6 and 17 the opportunity to learn the skills and values that have made the club a worldwide phenomenon.

“We are thrilled to bring the Barça model to Australia and provide young football fans with unparalleled football camps,” he said.

“The Barça camps will enable children to develop their football skills while instilling the core values that have made FC Barcelona a symbol of excellence.”

He added the young players would have the opportunity to learn with the ball at their feet, guided by experienced coaches who “embody the philosophy and methodology that have shaped FC Barcelona’s success” on and off the pitch.

The camps in Australia will also provide the possibility for enrolled players to be selected to participate in different football-related tournaments across the world, especially those located in Barcelona. In April this year, the first selected Australian players were able to enjoy this experience in Barcelona.
